Junior Training Restart
Posted by Michael Watson on 28 August 2020
As communicated earlier in the month, we are aiming to restart Junior training on SUNDAY 6TH SEPTEMBER from 10am until 11am at Little Kerse in Grangemouth (opposite the Inchyra Hotel)
Many thanks to everyone that completed the survey, but unfortunately, due to the prevalence of other bookings at the site, this is the only time that we could be accommodated. The landscape for youth sport has changed dramatically over the last 6 months, so please find below the guidelines that we will be operating under for the foreseeable future:
- COMMUNICATION - We are going to introduce the use of the “Spond” app for training management:
This app is safe, secure, utilised by a number of sports clubs already, and is available on the Apple and Android app stores as a free download. Due to capacity restrictions, the app is going to be used to obtain attendance numbers in advance, and also form the basis of our track and trace process through it’s attendance tracker. The communication features will also enable push notifications direct to your phone regarding new sessions being added, training updated, or important updates.
To join the group you need to download the app and create an account by following the below link which will then give you the group code to join “Falkirk Junior Hockey” within the app:
This process needs to be repeated for EACH child that you wish to register.
This is a CLOSED group, and only parents/guardians and coaches will have access – applicants must used the above code for applications, which will be accepted by the coaching team.
If you have any issues , queries or reservations with the Spond set up, please contact Michael Bunting 07905415280. If you do not have iphone/android, or can’t download the app please contact us for assistance. You will not get the notifications on your phone but will also be able to access and respond to all the information via the Spond webpage.
- PROTOCOLS
Each coach will have their own training pack, which will be sanitised before and after every training session.
Players and Coaches will have their temperature taken and hand sanitiser applied prior to entering the pitch. Anyone with a high temperature will be asked not to take part in the session as a precaution. If a player requires a stick, sanitised sticks will be provided, and will be loaned to the player for their sole use until restrictions are lifted.
The club will undertake a risk assessment of the facility prior to training commencing – a copy of this can be made available upon request, or viewed on the club website.
Toilets are available on site, but are out with the control of our hockey “bubble”, therefore we strongly advise that players should attempt to go to the toilet before leaving for training. In the case of an emergency, the player(s) will be accompanied to the building, and hand sanitisation will be reapplied on their return to the bubble.
First Aid will be applied in the case of serious injury, utilising PPE.
We appreciate that this is a lot of info to deliver in one go. The key message is to arrange access via the Spond app – this will keep you updated on the training days/times. Also, due to the uncertainty, and as we iron out any teething roubles, training will be FREE until advised otherwise.
Hope that all makes sense – if you have any questions, please email, message us through Facebook, or send a message via Spond 😉
