Match Report |
L1's faced Livingston at home on Wednesday night, their last friendly match to set them up for the start of their defence of their league title. L1's started off strong with some well worked passing movements around the pitch putting the Livingston defence under pressure right from the start. Livingston soon began to find their way back into the game and won a penalty corner which unfortunately the L1 defence weren't able to keep out of the back of the net ending the first half 1-0 to Livingston. This only seemed to spur L1's on in the second half though with some lovely passing around the back finding the midfield and forwards in space allowing them to penetrate the Livingston 'D' creating scoring opportunities and penalty corners. The Livingston defence were strong though and managed to keep L1's temporarily at bay. It was through the penalty corners though that Linlithgow found their breakthrough with Kyle Campbell scoring first with a lovely strike into the the corner of the goal closely followed by another well drilled corner finding Becky Smith in space who again slotted the ball home. L1's now face Kelso at home in their first game of the season next Saturday 9th Sept and hope to have as successful season as last year!
